This sounds like a marketing deal through the post office.
Select a general area and they will deliver an offer for pizza or mineral rights to all households in that area.
Was this addressed to you specifically ?
Frequently, it will have your name and/or current resident.

No, they didn't.

It was just one of those form letters where they got some computer outfit to merge the lists of property owners with their form letter and the computer types in your acreage.

So, there was nothing to sign.

And so, it was just a mindless exercise by these folks, trolling for dollars.

It was addressed to me specifically ... but just a "mail merge" using a list from county records which are public ... you can buy the list from a mailing list broker,

We received an offer from "Enchanted" Minerals.  It was specifically addressed and included our tax parcel number.  It included a "sample" deed, and a phone number to call if we were interested.  I would give more info, but it seems to have disappeared in a round hole Blue Laugh

Still putting out their cold call mailings. Good luck to them.  Blue Laugh Not knocking those that purchase rights as they might provide a good service for those who sell with full knowledge of what they are giving up. Hate to see it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be prepared to receive more letters of this type.  For example, if you were to receive a division order that includes the names and addresses of all the royalty owners, or a document is recorded that includes the same, these are the prime set ups for future unsolicted mailings.  Many purchasers, of this type, also watch the drilling permits and completions for target mailings.  I have had situations where a well was recently completed the division order had not been mailed.  Always investigate every such mailing because someone else may know more than you do.
