In Colorado things are different
« on: October 05, 2017, 06:24:54 AM »
Under Colorado law, if just one person wants to lease their land for drilling everyone must do so.  It is called forced pooling.  Forced pooling is commonplace in America, but more often a majority of landowners must want to lease in order to compel the holdouts.  And at the other extreme, as this article mentions, in Pennsylvania there is no forced pooling at all:

Article also mentions 15% royalty and $500 bonus offers, though this is for oil.  I guess a 15% royalty on oil might not be so bad.
