DEP Throws Taxpayer Money at Coal Lawyer to Punish Gas?

The PA Dept. of Environmental Protection (DEP) wants to punish gas companies endlessly and is using taxpayer money to hire an expensive coal lawyer to help.

I never bashed Donald for his coal stance. Political brillance. It won him the election. And he is paying back.
Wolfie might want some of that coal love and money too.

Sorry matty, there is no connection between the DEP using a coal field lawyer and coal fighting anything.  That's why you are wrapped around the wrong axle.  As usual, off topic.  You remain the champ non sequitur delivery boy.

This situation brings to mind the incident in 2009 of the Dunkard Creek fish kill.  That stream, a highly prolific fishery on the Pa./West Virginia border, experienced a major environmental disaster that wiped out much of the life that had inhabited it.  The anti-gas people were quick to blame the shale gas industry which was just getting started in that region and the regulatory agencies were gearing up to asses fines until it was discovered that the trouble was caused by coal mine runoff coming from a Murray Energy Co. operation, which eventually had to pay some 2 1/2 million dollars in fines and mitigation.  Coal is in serious and probably irreversible decline, but it still can call in political markers on both the Federal and state levels in order to try to keep from shrinking even faster.

I worked over by the Tioga River near Mansfield many years ago. Coal had taken a heavy toll on it. Hopefully its better now.
