Andrew Cuomo’s Dubious CO2 Goals and Failure to Produce

Andrew Cuomo adopted big-time CO2 goals but performance to date and likelihood of success suggest a different strategy is needed — one involving natural gas.

It's hard to beat simple to read graphs such as Mr. Shepstone has presented here in showing just where New York State gets its energy supply.  I just wonder how  those pie portions would have changed in size if the two nuclear power plants along Lake Ontario which their owners wanted to close, but the Cuomo Administration kept open at ratepayer and taxpayer expense, had been allowed to discontinue operations.  I think the answer is that the portion coming from natural gas would have grown very considerably while the part coming from solar and wind would have only grown a little bit.
