Any new activity in Bradford county?
« on: November 03, 2018, 08:15:21 PM »
After not hearing much for the last couple of years got an offer today in the mail to purchase mineral rights for $2,500/acre. I am not interested in taking it but was surprised as it was much higher than the offers I have received in past years. Makes me hopeful that maybe some activity is coming?

Repsol/Talisman are pulling a lot of permits. They have been working mostly in the Leraysville area but are starting to pull permits over towards Troy.

I'm in the canton area so maybe there is hope. My lease with Talisman expired almost two years ago.

The higher offer may be a good omen.
Some of these mineral buyers have inside information on these drillers development plans. The drill could be headed your way.

Have a small piece in sylvania and a larger piece in canton, after checking tax numbers this is for the small parcel in sylvania. Was hoping it was the unleased canton piece

Any offers from Chief out there? I think they have been one of the more honest operators in NE PA right?

I deal with producers every single day, and trust me, drilling plans change daily for an incredible variety of reasons.

These mineral rights purchasers do not make offers based on inside info. They look at areas and take many factors into considerations (quality of the rock, anticipated takeaway capacity, lease terms, producers investor info, etc.). Rumors are near the bottom of the list, if they are even considered at all.

maybe, maybe not.

we've seen the producers themselves make offers for our minerals in the past. interestingly, Chesapeake has made the highest offer by far for mine, under the guise of a shell company. that was of course for chk leased and produced acreage, so they definitely had the benefit of "insider info". my acreage under lease to other companies has not received any offers that comes close to those.

Back in the day the Mineral buyers from out of state would come in right after the landman signed you up. They were probably related.

They are still here, can't open a fish wrapper without seeing an ad for one or another.  Where I think they MAY strike a lode is with the local deplorables that can now afford to move to a more, ah, salubrious climate.
There are two kinds of ships.  Submarines and targets.

Fair point.

I assumed MACAL was referring to the independent outfits.
