Exactly. They are competing. Then you have the climate people. Nust ignore them? Or sell your product?
So you are a closet capitalist.  You hide it well.

Exported LNG is replacing coal now. Lot of coal being exported too. Its competition.
Probably way easier to export coal, but few want it. Seems like the biggest issue with NG is getting the pipelines built, or completed in many cases. Gee, the green machine is in West Virginia & Virginia delaying a pipeline 85% complete. ( years + delays). Coal goes by trucks or rail, so less of a problem. My backwards thinking.
"The elevated health risks appear to be associated with exposure to air pollutants from the coal-burning power plant emissions and to the heavy metals and radioactive material in coal ash, a waste product of the plants."
 https://corporate.dukehealth.org/news-listing/despite-studies-health-effects-coal-burning-power-plants-remain-unknown.
NJ , Warren County, built a waste to energy power plant 13.5 megawatts  on 550 tons of garbage a day. It is in a populated area, and was burning batteries until mercury levels in the area soared.  They will never put something like this, within the boundaries of a state forest. It is to risky for the environment :'( .  Way to many people, as long as its not near the 1% its fine.

you seem to be thinking that we are somehow involved in the marketing or promotion of the product. do you think that by hyping climate change you are somehow advancing the use of gas? because I do not, and nor will I participate in the promotion of a lie to do so if it could be done.

that's a fundamental difference between us, and I think that most folks prefer to be honest as well.

that doesn't fit with my definition of "capitalist". he takes no risk, and provides no benefit to anyone but himself.

How wpuld you know what business risks I have taken. Thats ridiculous. You dont know what I have done. We know what you have risked and benefits you have provided. Day trading stocks and collecting royalties. You haven't had a real job for 20 years. Nothing wrong with that. But to disparage what I have done when you have no facts is typical of all your opinions of others here.

You really need to read some of your own posts.

you need to read them without your ideological lens and without your constant feelings of victimization.

you called for civil discussion, but you have yet to engage in meaningful discussion. you seem to only want people to agree with you, but in order for that to happen, you must first present a fact based rebuttal. calling your opposition names is not a substitute.

then there's the problem of you going off into the weeds, causing discussions to degenerate into chaos. stick to a subject, and provide the rationale for your thinking instead of trying to insult with catchy one liners. otherwise, no discussion with you will ever result in any meaningful exchange.

I am inclined to believe that man is accelerating climate change. To what degree I have no idea. A lot of people think it is and will have catastrophic conditions. Other think it is a hoax.
Im in the middle. Im selling natural gas.
So lets keep the transition going from coal. It looks to be a win for everyone. Except for the coal miners. Coal had a great run and by no means is it gone from our energy future. Time to move on to a better product in terms of ground air and water pollution. And reduce carbon at the same time.

If indeed he's endorsing competition, he's at least giving lip service to capitalism.  Whether or not he's in the risk taking pool or not, well, we don't know and don't give a rodent's sphincter.  But I'm pretty sure he'll never take a seat at a poker table.

Except for the coal miners.
Especially the UMW.  I imagine you'll be hearing from wax about that.

first, lets separate the gas selling from global warming. we all want to sell gas, but few of us want to promote lies in order to do it. are you in favor of scaring kids into thinking that their world is soon gonna come to an end in order to make a few bucks?

on what basis do you believe that man is accelerating climate change? have you looked at the data? have you followed the series of dire warnings of imminent consequences to see if any of them have actually materialized? do you think that the leaders of this quasi religion are leading by example? because if they're not, it calls their claims and motives into question.

earth's climate is in constant flux. it's been way colder and hotter, and certainly more violent in the past. today, after several thousand years of human influence we are in a relatively calm interglacial period. a sweet spot, a goldilocks zone where we can support a huge population without fear of starvation. atmospheric co2 is an essential part of agricultural security, and we are nowhere near the "greenhouse" levels of the distant past. more co2 means more food, and a decreased need for heating fuel. labeling co2 as a pollutant is a ridiculous mischaracterization.

I will confess that I was previously inclined to accept the premise that the earth was warming up due to increasing co2 levels until I looked at the data, which clearly shows that that is not the case.

socialism has competition too, but capitalism involves the risk of capital to increase market share which grows the capital.

maybe that's lip service, I dunno.
